Distortion analysis of horizontally curved trapezoidal box girder bridges

چکیده
Composite box girder bridges may be a competitive solution under certain constraints due to their efficiency and torsional capacity. However, the cross section deflects transversally, creating longitudinal stresses which reduce capacity of section. Those controlled using cross-frames, but detailing those elements become expensive. The procedure described herein provides useful tool for an efficient design frames based on well-known BEF theory. It implemented commercial software formulation provided increases accuracy existing one.
